Our fast-paced and motivated team is currently recruiting Project Leads, who under the direction of the Director of Projects, will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the safety, cost, schedule and constructability execution plans of projects within their assigned area of responsibility.


The Project Lead is fully accountable for the management of actively assigned projects and is responsible for the execution of day-to-day project requirements while ensuring a safe, “on-time” and “on-budget” delivery of all identified project milestones.


The position will provide leadership, training and direction to their assigned Site Supervisor and subcontractors as appropriate. The Project Lead will ensure punctual reporting for both internal and client specified reports. Tasking and assignment are self-directed but it is expected that they will use their resources appropriately to complete their work. Project Lead duties are to be performed at a high level of professionalism and moral standards, ensuring that the projects’ goals of safety, cost and schedule are maintained throughout all projects.


The Project Lead’s role involves mid-level decisions with focus on directing the work to vendors ensuring both Nomodic’ and client standards are satisfied. This role requires a high level of focus on ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements and standards. As a member of the Nomodic leadership team the Project Lead assists the Director of Projects and supports all organizational and process change and improvement initiatives. The Project Lead role will be based in Calgary but expected to spend significant, extended periods on site managing projects. The volume of work and potential for travel is high.

Specific Duties include:



  • Coordinate safety efforts for all projects. Using both internal and external resources as required.
  • Report all incidents immediately to the Director of Projects and ensure that the incident reporting policies are followed.
  • Participate in risk and incident reviews as applicable. 


Project Development

  • Support the Project Development team during the development phase of projects.
  • Finalize overall project schedule by working closely with the Project Coordinator.
  • Support the development of project specific drawing packages with discipline specific engineers and architects.



  • Creation of execution plan based from contractual documents such as SOW’s and budget template.
  • Develop project specific SOW’s and RFQ’s with the Project Coordinator for tendering purposes.
  • Maintain open communications with their Site Supervisors and Project Supervisors reviewing deliverables on a weekly basis with daily updates expected as a minimum standard.
  • Review, forecast and update both costing and scheduling on a weekly basis by working closely with the Project Coordinator while maintaining and understanding of the works and activities each day.
  • Ensure that construction activities, reporting and scheduling requirements assigned by the Director of Projects for their area are implemented and executed in such a manner that both Nomodic and client expectations are met.
    • Reporting:  Responsible for pre, progress, and post budget reporting.  Manage reporting to client (i.e. safety, daily and weekly progress reports, turnover documentation).






  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Engineering related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credential (an asset)
  • Must hold all current safety certifications as outlined in the master Training Matrix
  • Must be fluent in English (both oral and written)
  • Must have minimum of valid class 5 driver’s license


Skills and Experience


  • 3+ years project management experience
  • Previous exposure to Supply Chain Management is an asset
  • Understanding of the principles of accounting principles is desirable
  • Excellent planning, organizing and logistics skills
  • Adaptability and the ability to react quickly in a fast-paced environment
